Mr. Mo Majid

Mr. Majid has advanced skills in managing problems related to cataract surgery, and is the 'Go-to-Person' for second opinions and repairing complications. His own complication rate is among the best in the country, at 0% on the National Eye Surgeons Audit database.

As well as his skills in Cataract and Vision Correction, Mr. Majid is a renowned expert in Retinal Detachment and Macular Surgery, Medical Retina, Uveitis and Eyelid Surgery, having passed Advanced Senior Fellowships in each of these disciplines. Few Consultants have such broad and extensive training.

Mr. Majid is regularly referred patients from all over the South West of England and Wales for his expertise in managing complex surgical problems and also sees patients from overseas by special request. He has operated on other eye surgeons and their families, which is a testament to his skill and composure as a surgeon.

Because of his extensive training background, Mr. Majid has been in a position to personally supervise the training of over 50 Senior Trainee Surgeons from countries including USA, Australia, Singapore, Germany, South America, Italy, the Middle East, Pakistan and India. He has trained them in the disciplines of Advanced Cataract Surgery, Medical and Surgical Retina, Ocular Inflammatory diseases and Oculoplastic/Orbital Surgery. It gives him a great sense of pride and satisfaction that they now practice as Consultant Eye Surgeons all over the world!

Throughout his career, he has been involved in many pioneering clinical research trials, leading to new innovations and has published many papers in internationally recognized medical journals. He was also awarded a PhD from the University of Bristol for his research on macular degeneration.

He consults privately throughout the week, where you can see him personally and have surgery with him and with no long waiting lists!
